Episode 22: Who Are The Aliens?
Gary and Helona discuss their captors.
“You don’t need to get yourself hurt like this, that’s my job,” said Gary. She felt his fingernail slide beneath the adhesive of the bandage on her cheek just before he yanked it off with a jerk, which almost hurt as much as she expected. He looked at the gauze carefully before tossing it in the trash can and peeling the backing off a fresh bandage.
“Hold on,” she said, getting up out of the chair and limping across to the bathroom mirror to examine her scraped cheek, but immediately regretted it. A wave of sadness came over her as she reached up and touched her hair, still nowhere near enough of it to hold a proper braid. She hated her new look and had avoided mirrors ever since arriving here. Why does hair take so much time to grow back?
After washing the injury in the sink and gingerly tapping it dry with a towel, she managed to spray it with hydrogen peroxide despite her broken fingers. The mist stung on impact with the wound, but she ignored it and hit it a couple more times. Then she picked up a tube of antiseptic ointment and squeezed a bead of it onto the bandage in Gary’s hand.
