Carl finds a genetics lab in Eridani space.

Carl felt a chill run up his spine at the memories triggered by the room. As he stepped out of the elevator, he saw the whole scene again in his mind: the layout of the room, the table where he had lain, the doorway they had gone through to stop Thadfield and to try to rescue the captive colonists. He saw them all positioned exactly where they had been back at the Goultaran genetics lab on Feleg 3. For a brief moment, he even forgot that he’d passed through a wormhole to travel clear across the galaxy.

“This is where the Goultarans used to process their Eridani prisoners,” said Tridigar, Carl’s Eridani guide.

“I know,” said Carl. “I woke up in a room exactly like this one after their sentry robots captured me back on Feleg 3.”

He pointed to the wall on one side of the room.
