The Eridani want the Earth Space to close the wormhole network.

“Commodore Griswald,” said Ambassador Britil, walking into his office. “I have a communique to pass on to your government. This communique will be followed up with direct action from my government within 24 of your hours unless a response is received.”

Griswald read the note, which had been translated into English by Britil’s staff. The Eridani were demanding joint control of the wormhole network.

Griswald pushed a button on his desk.

“Yes,” came the reply.
