Admirals and diplomats argue over how to prevent a war.
“We just wonder what good our so-called friendship with Earth is,” said Admiral Stonid. “You take over our ancestors’ outposts, you spy on the outposts we've managed to get to ahead of you, and you even drop in on them unannounced with invasion-sized fleets.”
“You drop in on our outposts, too,” said Admiral Pace.
Sam Grant saw Ambassador Trunketh roll her eyes and hoped he was the only one who noticed the gesture.
