Ambassador Elizabeth Trunketh shook her head as she stared at the communique in disbelief. “When Zenad finds out she’ll have kittens,” she said. “When are they planning to do this?”
“It already happened just before my courier ship entered the wormhole on the way here,” said Major Koons. He took out a cigar and looked up for permission, but she stared him down until he put it back in his pocket.
“Why are they...we doing this?” Elizabeth tried to keep some of the annoyance out of her voice.
