Elizabeth closed the door and sat in the chair across from his desk. The captain had adorned his small office with numerous memorabilia from his career—from West Point to fighter pilot, to astronaut, then various staff positions within the Octagon—the trinkets chronicling his path to becoming the commander of Earth’s first Raymond-class Heavy Space Cruiser.
