This message is for those of you who have yet to take the plunge.
I’ve noticed that drop-in readers, followers, and free subscribers often read and like the episode previews, but most of them don't take the next step and spend the $5 a month to upgrade to the full experience. The way fiction story structuring works, action episodes like last night's epic release, Episode 46: Rematch, build up to the heart-pounding action that happens in the middle and end of the episode. Free subscribers who only see the first couple of paragraphs never get to experience the best parts of the story.
Let me show you a piece of what most of you have been missing. Here’s a screenshot from my laptop, giving you a sneak peek behind the paywall for the episode published last night at midnight…
It’s been a long journey since last fall when Amazon announced that Kindle Vella was going away. I’d already written some of Season 3 and suddenly needed to take time off from writing the continuing saga to find a new home for Anomaly. Last month, I finished copying and drafting everything to Substack. Yesterday morning, I finished polishing and pre-scheduling the last episode of the Substack edition of Season 1. If Amazon hadn’t canceled Kindle Vella, hundreds of readers there would have experienced Season 3 Episode 6 last week.
When I finish writing this, I’ll pre-schedule the first episode of Season 2. Since it is a new season, the first five episodes will be free and scheduled to drop into the Anomaly subscribers’ email inboxes on February 22nd, 2025. Once I’ve finished scheduling all of Season 2, I can finally start polishing and scheduling the first drops of the never-before-seen Season 3.
However, since most of the readers of this message don’t currently have a paid subscription, they will miss out on the best parts of the saga.
I really want everyone to enjoy it all.
