Season 1 Episode 36: The Smoke From a Distant Fire

After the storm, Helona and Carl get back to work in pursuit of Wren.

Helona woke to the sound of night insects and the mixed smell of wood smoke and rainfall as she finished separating the fantasy of dreams from the morning reality. She yawned and looked around, picking dirt and decaying plant matter out of her hair. The coals of the dead fire popped, and the dull glow tinted the camp area with a soft orange light. She started to sit up, and her movement startled a small creature of some kind that scampered for the cover of the brush. Carl still slept in much the same position from which she'd just awakened, his head and chest protruding from the doorway of his tent.
