A science ship assigned to search for survivors of The Meridian Star discovers an ancient alien outpost.
"Captain on the bridge!"
Captain Jeff Stockworth approached the officer of the watch.
"Good Morning...Status?"
"Day 17 in orbit," the officer replied. "58% of planet details have been surveyed, and we have still found no signals or other indicators of advanced life forms, escape pods, or signs of marooned survivors. We’re still scheduled for departure to the next planet on the list ten days from today."
