Sam Grant watched the spinning kaleidoscope of the wormhole dissipate and squinted to find Wormhole Command Station in the starscape in front of him.
“Contact Admiral Stennis, please,” he said, struggling to keep his voice calm.
He waited a minute while the necessary contact sequence came together, and then the face of Admiral Stennis on the forward display.
